We strive to be tech-savvy with our coverage, but not techy.

Role details:

You are: A writer with your finger on the pulse of the autos industry. You will be responsible for staying abreast of the automotive industry at large, everything from new model announcements to the latest updates from Apple on CarPlay. You will monitor news feeds, determine the worthiness of global happenings, and report on the interesting bits for our readers.

Your day to day:

You will deliver a series of regular updates, often on tight deadlines. You will work with manufacturers to coordinate news ahead of release, and may attend international car shows when the opportunity allows, helping with on-the-ground reporting as the news is made.

Key projects:

In addition to hitting regular news and digging for scoops, you’ll help generate regular feature series on the industry, and also help contribute to full reviews and previews of cars.

The ideal candidate is located in San Francisco or Los Angeles

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have--

  • 1+ years experience covering the automotive industry

  • Obsessive love for all forms of vehicular transportation

  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for quality

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Familiarity with online publishing

  • Knowledge of basic HTML

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience

You may also have--

  • Willingness to travel to international automotive events
