CBS Radio Chicago is seeking a full-time Live Events & Experiences Director for the Live Events & Experiences/Integrated Marketing Department. This position involves working in a high-energy, fast paced environment assisting in the development, implementation, and execution of integrated & non-traditional marketing programs and events.

This position is on the front line of the Live Events & Experiences sales process, working with AEs to develop custom solutions for clients as well as creating sellable event platforms. This person should have a thorough knowledge of event marketing, media sales and in-depth knowledge of research, marketing and branding. Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is required. Position requires a high level of computer skills and the ability to effectively manage the station(s) non-traditional revenue line (budget/expenses).

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Conceive, write and create new non-traditional revenue business opportunities; annual Live Events & Experiences budget planning and ownership of budget line. This position manages applicable training of account executives in event selling, brainstorming categories and custom solutions. Also assists station GSMs in stewarding relationships with key accounts and identifying new event and promotion opportunities that will grow revenue.

This position works closely with station Brand and Activation Managers and Events and Strategy Directors to effectively produce events and oversee fulfillment of all projects tied to station sponsorship revenue. The ability to secure cross promotional partners, communicate sponsorship information to relevant CBS Radio Chicago departments (programming, promotions, creative, digital), and to demonstrate sound judgment in decision making is also a factor in candidate success.


Qualified applicants should be dependable, demonstrate a positive attitude, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, possess good communications skills and be able to show good judgement when problem solving on behalf of radio station and clients.

Candidate should be able and willing to work both as a team and independently interfacing with other departments and clients as needed.

  • College degree in Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations or related area

  • 3-5 years of professional sales or marketing experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Solid computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Must be well organized with the ability to multi-task while thriving under tight deadlines
