DESCRIPTION:

WSCR, The Score is looking for an Executive Producer

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

-Generate show topics for and with show hosts

-Booking appropriate guests for show

  • Produce Audio Content

  • Aid Show hosts with topic development and provide necessary means in which to advance topics

  • Screen calls during show in a professional manner

  • Stay current on all national and local sports content

  • Monitor televised sporting events and game highlights for show prep both at place of work and away from physical work area

  • Have contacts with Chicago sports teams, and national media members

  • Work with all departments of the radio station with an understanding of how they relate to show

  • Running control board and producing live sporting events i.e.: Cubs baseball.

  • Oversee web elements

  • Audio and sound production

  • Podcasting

-Being able to read commercials if needed.

-Experience in performing endorsement commercials

-Promotional idea’s for the show, both production imaging, and marketing outside of the station

-Web writing experience

-Social media experience i.e.: Twitter, Facebook, etc.

-Interaction with all departments at the radio station

-Work away from the office for station/show promotions

-Being prepared for occasional travel for events/live shows

-Occasional weekend duties

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Equivalent experience

  • Background in producing sports talk radio preferred

  • Experience in producing in the field from live sporting events preferred

  • Must have a working knowledge of the basic facts of topical sports stories

  • Demonstrate " sports news judgement"

  • Knowledge of Protocols

  • Remote producing-sound board engineering preferred

  • Digital posting preferred

  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment

  • Have a high degree of time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal skills

  • Ability to use MS Office Suite

-Being able to learn Video streaming and the process for the station

-Top ten market experience preferred

-Being able to manage on-air talent expectations on a daily basis
