Sr. Principal Analyst

The Sr. Principal Analyst oversees and actively designs and manages the development, procurement and launch of new Digital Asset Management systems in support of Production, Post Production and Program Distribution functions at Showtime Networks. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of digital content from production through worldwide distribution (including multiple types of platforms). Expertise in audio and video codecs, ingestion, transcoding, working knowledge of various live media delivery protocols, and a demonstrated knowledge of digital workflows is required.
Partner with the Production, Business Affairs and Program Distribution departments across Showtime, identifying opportunities within the businesses to increase productivity and efficiency.
Work with business stakeholders to ensure that current/future technologies meet and exceed current and future business needs, conducting fit-gap analysis, with recommendations to project stakeholders.
Manage implementation and enhancements of a digital asset management and workflow system, including design, testing, and deployment.
Responsible for building system integrations with digital asset management systems, original content management systems and production systems where applicable.
Perform analysis, design, testing and deployment for custom and vendor solutions for project stakeholders.
Establish best practices for testing new technologies.
Collaborate with businesses, IT and vendors to establish new processes and workflows that leverage new applications where applicable.
Develop a client-facing portal with media streaming support for content distribution.
Enhance and support OpenText Media Manager and any future solutions with automated workflows such as transcoding, content delivery, systems integration, and multi-tenant support.
Manage an Enterprise level Metadata Model supporting multiple Business Units on a single platform.
Develop a Cloud strategy to support efficient content workflows and performance requirements across multiple geographic locations.
Implement systems/solution to integration gaps in opereations.
Stay abreast of current and future technologies supporting postproduction and distribution.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent work experience is required.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing and implementing solutions in production, postproduction, and/or content distribution.
Prior experience working with digital production workflows desired. Conceptual knowledge of transcoding, editing, and managed file transfers.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing digital or Media Asset Management systems.
Subject matter expertise in media, video and audio formats.
Proven experience with Open Text Media Manager or other systems like: Levels Beyond Reach Engine, Media Beacon, Prime Focus Clear or Adobe Experience Manager.
Clear understanding or metadata modeling and security models.
Expert knowledge of video editing tools (avid, FCP, Adobe Premiere and other DVWs).
Hands-on experience with content delivery tools such as Aspera and Signiant.
Expert knowledge of master data management.
Candidate must be able to work autonomously under heavy deadline driven projects.
Demonstrated ability to relate user stories to technology implementation.
Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Visio and Project.
Computer literacy and proficiency in data querying tools, such as SQL, MS Access, and Excel.
Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to utilize data to recommend solutions and drive strategic business decisions.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to perform data mapping between multiple databases and data extracts.
Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate and critique such information as written materials, numerical data, responses to customer needs and/or other work related activities.
Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal customer needs related to the job.
