We are seeking a high-impact engineering executive with the vision, leadership acumen, experience, and proven track record to join our team of engaged professionals who are passionate about making a difference. In this role you will oversee multiple high-performing teams in driving the development of groundbreaking software solutions for multi-platform content delivery across several consumer-facing online media brands. This includes leading the full lifecycle of software development (planning, architecture, implementation), for web, mobile applications, tablets, game consoles, televisions, and video. You will also work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to define and develop business objectives and milestones that will drive effective short- and long-term technology strategies.

PRIMARY LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILTIES:
Lead the development, vision, architecture, and evolution of CBS’s portfolio of consumer-facing digital products
Promote technical innovation and influence product roadmaps by leading requirements across functions, and by developing the team’s overall capabilities in effective software development and web/mobile technology
Attract, develop and retain multiple high performing teams (software engineers, tech leads, managers), by offering ongoing coaching, professional growth opportunities, and by cultivating an overall culture that celebrates successes and inspires a drive for risk-taking and overall excellence
Serve as a member of the Technical Leadership Team, proactively partnering with other VPs and peers to make decisions that drive growth and propel CBS forward
Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to direct the strategic long-term goals, policies and procedures for software innovation across all products, as well as oversee the development, release and maintenance of software applications
Evaluate, recommend, and ultimately determine CBS’ technical product designs, including architectural parameters and all related technical decisions
Partner with the business/peers to ensure seamless integrations with evolving architectures and supporting infrastructure, including providing detailed requirements and documentation to support application stacks
Lead consolidation and simplification efforts for application stacks by developing and updating software platform frameworks that enable efficiencies
Ensure that CBS remains cutting-edge with respect to implementation of new technology and innovative products which can grow the business
Employ agile-based development methodologies, and introduce new modes of development practices aligned with changing business priorities and roadmaps
BS Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical degree, or equivalent professional experience
10+ years of proven experience leading the full lifecycle of software development (planning, architecture, implementation), QA, and operations, to create robust and reliable solutions that deliver against an ambitious product roadmap across a portfolio of highly-trafficked sites and mobile applications
Exceptional leadership acumen, including the ability to develop and iterate upon a multi-year strategy, articulate clear objectives, focus and motivate teams to execution, adeptly anticipate changes, and flex priorities to maintain effectiveness
Minimum of 5 years leading large software development teams, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines to achieve results in an evolving media environment
Effectively communicate technical and business risks to stakeholders to ensure informed risk-taking and optimal decision-making
Exemplary relationship builder and communicator who is consultative in nature and able to quickly form partnerships across all levels of the organization
Creative and conceptual thinker who can play a critical role in business planning, working closely with other senior executives to develop plans, resource requirements, and influence long-term technical and business strategy
Experience with both waterfall and Agile development methodologies
Experience at an online company in digital media or content creation
Management of large, multi-location or remote teams
Lead a team of highly skilled technologists to transform existing front end and back end architecture into a platform that can support a suite of applications and services in web, mobile, and video.
Strong organization skills and project management acumen, with a keen ability to leverage previous experience to augment the overall development cycle and cadence of innovation
