CBS Local Digital Media provides undergrad/graduate student’s a hands-on, work experience through a structured internship program. Students are encouraged to observe and participate in a professional work environment and explore CBS Local’s day-to-day operations. Through this internship program, students gain valuable skills and knowledge that will be applied in their future careers. CBS fosters an environment where learning is contagious.
The Digital Analytics Intern will work in the Business Intelligence department and provide analytic support to the Research, Content, and Operations teams.
Producing regular (e.g., weekly and monthly) and ad-hoc reports of digital traffic, user engagement, and content production for various products and platforms
Gathering requirements from stakeholders of a multifunctional team to produce their required reports, continuously fine-tune and sometimes improve upon reporting formats
Pulling raw data from a multitude of analytics platforms and data sources and creating presentable reports in Excel and PowerPoint with a focus on revealing actionable and relevant insights
Maintaining and automating existing reports
Assisting in creating data analyses and presentations as needed
Working on Mondays and Tuesdays required, with regular weekly attendance a must
An academic background in or a strong interest in analytics, statistics, mathematics, or related fields required
Advanced skills in Excel required
Ability to work fast under pressure of meeting the deadlines of multiple reporting requirements on a weekly and/or monthly basis required
Ability to work with large amounts of data, creating and maintaining complex reports and dashboards required
Strict attention to detail and accuracy in data required
Basic skills in PowerPoint, Word and Outlook preferred
Willingness to work on routine data reporting tasks, (e.g., weekly and monthly, required)
Experience with using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, ComScore preferred
Prior experience in a professional environment, particularly in a team environment, preferred
Graduate students or college juniors and seniors with a GPA of 3.5 preferred, but open to the other students with an outstanding academic record and a strong interest in digital analytics
Must be self-motivated, quick learner, and a creative thinker with strong analytical, organizational, time-management, and communication skills
