Main responsibilities include:

Ownership of the Accounts Payable Process: reviewing all invoices in detail for accuracy, preparing allocations for invoices split among multiple shows, fully investigating and resolving any discrepancies, preparing invoices for Coordinating Producer’s approval, tracking approved invoices sent to AP, Maintain electronic files of all invoices.

Ownership of the weekly Payroll Processes: accurately gathering and inputting timesheet data into payroll system. Generating payroll reports as needed.

Reconcile monthly Purchasing activity (supplies, equipment etc.) on company Purchasing Card and through iProcurement for accuracy and identifying opportunities for cost savings.

Participate in Finance Responsibilities relating to expense filing (Trex system): audit expenses and prepare expense reports for Broadcast Coordinating Producer’s approval.

Create various relevant analysis items for budgeting purposes.

Continuously improve current internal operating procedures and make cost saving recommendations.

Assist with the day-to-day administrative duties related to talent, guests and staffers. (i.e. telephone coverage, booking travel, supplies requests, initiating meetings, various news room needs).

Perform special projects for Broadcast Coordinating Producer as required.


Required skills/experience:

  • Must have strong analytical skills, be detailed orientated and maintain the highest degree o accuracy.

  • Must complete multiple tasks on time and under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours depending on the news cycle.

  • Strong PC and Excel spreadsheet skills required.

  • Strong interest in News and Journalism and a keen eye for current events.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
