The Director, Licensing, for the CBS Consumer Products team will:

  • Maximize royalty revenue for group

  • Develop and execute licensing strategies and plans (target industries, categories, products and licensees) for multiple categories and multiple properties

  • Conceive of, pitch and negotiate deals and deal structures

  • Research categories, stay abreast of trends, source new ideas and identify opportunities

  • Attend relevant trade shows

  • Manage product development with Creative and Marketing teams

  • Assist in development of and monitor all licensee trade shows

  • Act as principle in licensee partnership management in gift, apparel, accessories and home categories

  • Strategize with licensees for category growth including new channels of distribution

  • Work with Ad Sales to leverage sponsors into licensees

  • Organize with Legal & Contracts Administration, Operations and Finance team as well as Marketing within Consumer Products department

  • Liaise with International Licensing agents

  • Spearhead forecasting and budgeting for licensee revenue

  • Be conduit for retailer and licensee feedback

  • Develop best practices and implement processes


  • 7 - 10 years Licensing or related experience

  • Strong negotiation and financial skills

  • Strategic thinker

  • Ability to travel when needed (4+ trips annually)

  • Strong written and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated team player

  • Relevant experience in Licensing industry and retail marketplace

  • Specific category familiarity in soft lines helpful

  • Entertainment experience a plus

  • Ability to work in a small team organization

  • Strong MS PowerPoint & Excel skills
