Lead the digital analytics for CBS News Digital, one of the flagship brands within CBS Digital Media group at CBSi. Deliver meaningful insights and strategic recommendations for CBSi’s businesses, effectively lead projects and execute strategies to drive audience and revenue growth, and perform very hands-on technical analyses in support of CBSi’s growing online news brand. Develop and manage 1-2 analysts, while serving as key advisor to the CBS News Digital organization. Execute on data initiatives and lead data projects to better understand CBSi’s audience, content and product offerings across all platforms and business models. Leverage data to grow the business, deliver personalized product and advertising experiences. Formulate and perform in-depth statistical/quantitative analyses, data mining, mathematical modeling, experimentation (A/B and Multivariate tests), optimization and predictive analytics. Effectively communicate and ‘translate’ quantitative findings (storytelling with data), make and defend meaningful conclusions and recommendations to inform product decisions. Identify and interpret trends and relationships to product and business stakeholders. Build, improve, and maintain interactive and intuitive reports, dashboards and tracking metrics to monitor the performance of CBSi’s products. Manage development of data resources, gather requirements, organize sources, and support product launches. Foster effective business relationships with all internal and external partners, vendors and stakeholders.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent quantitative field. Must have five years of data analysis and analytics experience. The five years of experience must include experience with querying/mining large, complex, and raw data sets in Teradata/Hadoop databases; writing advanced SQL queries; building video/web reports via analytical tools including Omniture and Tableau; applying statistical intuition using applications such as R; use various analytical approaches to solve problems; prioritizing/managing multiple and time sensitive projects simultaneously; and ensuring data accuracy. The five years of experience must also include two years of direct management experience. Must successfully pass a background check.
