DESCRIPTION:

CBS Interactive is actively seeking a Senior Director, Advertising Sales to join the organization. This position is responsible for delivering the revenue goals on the CBS News Digital property. This position will set the sales goals and strategy for News, and lead the overall implementation and execution of that strategy. This position will report to the SVP or Sales for CBS Interactive.

Responsibilities:

The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list:

Meet and exceed annual and quarter budgets.

Lead News sales and play a leadership role within the CBS Digital sales team.

Develop and implement the overall go to market strategy for media and News marketing sales. This includes collaborating with production leaders and marketing to develop the right products, leading all product pricing decisions, and determining the best approach for coordinating efforts with other outward selling departments within CBS Interactive.

Lead and assist sellers in key sales presentations and contract negotiations.

Daily approvals of pricing and packaging.

Daily prospecting of new business.

Facilitate C-Level meetings.

Be the product expert on News and the marketplace informant to the CBSi Sales division.

National travel 20-40% for agency/client meetings and sales events.

Oversee campaigns performance, optimization, ROI, and recaps.

Deliver the annual media sales revenue goals. This includes forecasting, tracking, and reporting revenue for CBS Interactive Executives via Salesforce.

Build strong working relationships with other internal departments at CBS, including the broadcast sales team, Sales Operations, Digital Operations, Finance, Legal, and serve as an escalation point for the team to obtain approvals or resolve issues.

Participate in overall CBS Interactive - strategic planning and reporting to senior managers.

Assist in hiring of sales team and direct sellers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in business, advertising, marketing, or related field.

10+ years of experience in either sales or sales related fields with significant digital experience.

Demonstrated ability to lead a sales organization.

Ability to close deals, prospect and set up C-Level meetings.

Experienced sports marketer and digital video/ mobile seller.

Must successfully pass a background check.

Preferred:

MBA

2+ years management experience

High school sports and college sports knowledge/background a plus but not a requirement.

In addition, CBS will be guided by applicable federal, state and local laws when considering for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories.
