DESCRIPTION:

CBS Radio is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to join its IT team based in New York City. We’re looking for a highly technical and experienced network engineer to architect, design, implement, maintain and support a new enterprise network infrastructure supporting 117 radio stations in 26 markets. You will be part of a brand new team responsible for implementing a scalable, maintainable, and highly available network architecture that meets/exceeds business expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build & operate a next generation network

  • Provide architectural and engineering leadership strategies to ensure scalability, availability, and functionality

  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)

  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations

  • Monitor network performance, utilization, trending, and capacity planning

  • Provide support and troubleshooting to resolve issues

  • Work within established governance, controls & change management

  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team

  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

  • Evaluate and recommend new software platforms and services

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience

  • CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)

  • In depth understanding of enterprise network infrastructure and design including: routing/switching, data center, wireless, security, collaboration, application delivery controllers, virtualization, disaster recovery/high availability, content delivery networks (CDN), acceleration technologies, cloud provider/services, software defined networking (SDN)

  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)

  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model, F5, Palo Alto experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience

  • Basic knowledge in generating process documentation

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing
