The open telemarketing sales manager position is responsible for selling S&S Wholly Owned Adult, Children’s and Audio title lists to 89 Independent Retail Accounts in the South. The sales rep is required to perform sales analysis and use independent judgement to make recommendations on product selection and volume to their accounts based on knowledge of their customer as well as on our product. The sales rep is required to work independently with individual buyers assisting them in managing their coop budgets, as well as soliciting sign-up each year for our Premier Marketing Plan in order for their accounts to receive their marketing credits. Reps must plan in-store promotional placement, newsletter placement, author events and social media campaigns in an effort to drive sales at their accounts. Telemarketing sales reps are required to independently create individual backlist title lists to solicit to the accounts in their territory based on seasonal themes, bestselling authors with backlist opportunities and regional backlist staples. This position requires the sales rep to attend the Southern Independent Bookseller Association Regional Trade Show each year, as well as participate in Sales Conferences and BEA. Telemarketing sales reps manage all customer service issues with their accounts: releasing orders from credit review and credit hold, reserving stock with supply chain for larger orders, requesting tracking information and proof of delivery.
Minimum 3 years of progressive Sales work experience in a mid-size or large publishing company.
Retail account experience a plus.
Experience with sales order processing and account analysis.
Experience and strong ability using Edelweiss and Microsoft Office.
Ability to prioritize competing demands and deal with a high volume of transactions.
