DESCRIPTION:

The EVP of Marketing is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the President, CBS Television Domestic Distribution. The selected candidate will oversee a diverse marketing portfolio for broadcast syndication, including ad sales and demonstrate to be an experienced and efficient leader. The Executive Vice President of Marketing must have an excellent understanding of their company's goals and consumer desires. They work in a leadership role, developing and then overseeing various marketing projects and campaigns that are designed to improve the company's image and promote its programming or services. The EVP of Marketing must analyze marketing studies and ratings data to ascertain the company's next steps and competitors' behavior.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, direct and set the strategic direction of marketing programs for the organization

  • Develops and executes marketing plans and strategies for both Business to Business sales and Consumer advertising & promotion

  • Cultivate strong relationships with the local stations in order to better market our shows

  • Analyzes the effectiveness of past promotions and incorporates successful elements into future marketing strategies

  • Prepares and updates all marketing budgets. Calculates and adjusts budgets against projected revenues

  • Manages marketing expenditures within projected budgets

  • Works seamlessly with all other departments and department leadership in division to ensure quality, clear efficient communication, and brand cohesiveness

  • Manages and implements all launch strategies for new/returning programming in all media including but not limited to TV, radio, print, cable, digital, & social media

  • Review, design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures with various departments and division leadership

  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and ratings growth

  • Enforce and where necessary establish policies that promote company culture and vision

  • Oversee daily operations of the department and the work of department employees

  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication

  • Evaluate ratings performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics

  • Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.)

  • Manage relationships with partners/vendors

  • Works with Research Department to conduct market research and monitor market trends in order to remain competitive and meet overall objectives

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications and Skills Requirement:

  • Ideal candidate understands TV Syndication and has a strong rolodex with the TV stations across the country

  • Ability to manage and collaborate with a diverse creative group within the department

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently

  • Strong Attention to detail (including good spelling, grammar and proofing skills)

  • Initiative to prioritize work and juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to clarify goals for division, department, and individuals within the department

  • Ability to positively manage client and talent interactions and relationships

  • Proficient with PC & Mac software

  • Excellent follow through

  • Outstanding interpersonal & communication skills

  • Basic video editing and production skills a plus

  • BS/BA Degree in marketing or related field, Master’s Degree preferred

  • Ability to positively interact with clients, talent and team members

  • Positive organizational habits

  • Thinks creatively and strategically - cross right brain to left at a moment’s notice

  • A background that includes local broadcasting, production, cable, digital experience
