Oversee and maintain the Filmtrack database that tracks the product and rights information relating to over 3,000 titles in the CBS Television Library. Interact with management and staff of departments throughout the company (finance, sales, marketing, operations, legal, etc.) to be sure needed information is received asap. Prepare reports using Excel and Powerpoint, along with performing library analysis as needed. Support sales by creating custom reports and production information on a timely basis. Analyze individual titles in our library to determine clearance issues and costs such as music clearance and residual liability.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as first point of contact for any rights, availability or clearance questions regarding the over 3,000 titles in our library

Maintain and update Filmtrack System Avails (distribution rights tracking system, works with FilmTrack Star*CM)

Maintain and update Filmtrack System Star*CM (products and product information, works with FilmTrack Avails)

Maintain Product Rights System PRAS

Maintain Product Information System PIS

Prepare and Maintain Reports:

Product Rights Report

Rights and Restrictions Update

King World Quarterly Cash Report

Manage process of creating/adding records to Product Database PDS: Prepare forms, create/add new records to Filmtrack in draft for activation & interface to Product Database PDS, send forms to Production Finance teams (Studios Production Finance and CTD)

Maintain records of all products added

Maintain Rights Tracking System

Rights Overrides: Review and approve (or reject) rights restrictions overrides in DMS System (Domestic & International Sales)

Review and answer questions from Sales, Production Finance, Operations, Legal, Merchandising, etc., regarding rights and product information in PRAS

Prepare reports for Sales Teams: Domestic Cable Sales, Domestic Syndication, International

Maintain licensing windows for Domestic Sales Admin

Work with IS&T to solve problems relating to the systems we work with, also test and approve upgrades and fixes to our systems

Served as Data Conversion Lead for implementation of Film Track. Do analysis on new media rights as the system is expanded to include those rights

Prepare PowerPoint presentations and recently standardized the SAP-IPM training program by creating a series of customized decks designed for three different user levels

Use Excel to quickly process and analyze large amounts of rights and attribute data to measure the scope of a given issue, spot potential data patterns and identify possible resolutions

Review music costs to advise on music clearance

Collaborated frequently with Finance, Business Affairs, Music and Operations to resolve urgent issues

Maintain licensing windows for Domestic Sales Administration

Prepare digests of new agreements for the acquisition of new product


3+ years Product Rights media experience

Experience with retransmission royalties a plus.
