CBS Radio-St. Louis seeks an Event Sales Specialist to join the local Events and Experiences team. The Event Sales Specialist’s primary function will be to develop, manage and grow new and existing events and sponsorships, as designated by the local management team.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Identifying, negotiating and securing sponsors to support marketing and event initiatives

  • Engage key decision makers and be able to pitch event new, existing or custom sponsorship platforms

  • Having a working knowledge of sponsorship activation, event production and program implementation

  • Develop, manage and retain book of active prospects for existing events, custom platforms and new business opportunities

  • Working with existing sales staff to identify key prospects, grow existing clients and develop new opportunities

  • Working within sponsorship, digital and radio advertisement departments to craft 360 degree marketing campaigns for prospects

  • Obtaining research and case studies for sales presentations

  • Developing prospective sponsor sales materials

  • Proactively create strategic recommendations and optimizations for each event

  • Responsible for collections and accounts receivables for each sponsorship

  • Responsible for client service from pitch to recap and all steps in-between


  • The ability to think BIG as it relates to opportunities and proposals

  • 4+ years event management or sponsorship sales/development experience

  • Possess a current base of event and/or sponsor focused client contacts

  • Ability to work independently or with a team and think creatively

  • Working knowledge of events and event production, as they apply to activating client programs

  • Excellent communication, organization, problem solving and time management skills

  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines, adapt to change and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Strong copy writing skills, computer aptitude and social media savvy

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Experience with entertainment and brand clients is strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Must have a valid driver's license along with a clean MVR record
