CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).


KCBS2/KCAL9 has an immediate opening for an Investigative News Photographer/Editor for the Los Angeles Duopoly. The News Photographer/Editor is responsible for gathering news content and operating ENG equipment for the KCBS2/KCAL9 News operation.

A successful candidate must have the ability to capture compelling visuals and audio in a sensitive investigative environment. This is a fast-paced, high-energy environment requiring a highly skilled and creative individual with the technical know-how to capture engaging video during an interview or while undercover. You must be a team player that consistently contributes throughout the newsgathering process. You must be open to implementing new technologies and methods to accomplish future assignments. While this position is for an Investigative Photographer, you may be reassigned as a general assignment photographer as needed.

  • Previous experience as an Investigative Photojournalist is required

  • Comply with CBS and Cal OSHA safety standards

  • Must have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License



  • Excellent technical and ENG lighting skills required

  • Competent in undercover video gathering techniques

  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, high-pressure, tight-deadline environment

  • Ability to take initiative, receive constructive feedback and work with minimal supervision

  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment throughout the shift

  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules which may include early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.


  • Safely operate news gathering equipment throughout Southern California

  • Edit stories quickly and accurately (in-house or field)

  • Competent with Edius editing and Sony XD cameras preferred

  • SNG truck operation skills a plus
