CBS Radio's ConnectingVets.com seeks a multi-media journalist who specializes in storytelling through video and motion graphics. This self-starter will work alongside a talented group of veterans in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. This is a hands-on position that spans every aspect of modern journalism, combining text, images, sound, video and graphics to produce interesting and compelling stories.
Job Duties Include:
Finding, brainstorming and producing compelling visuals to complement our best content of the day in collaboration with a team of multi-media content specialists.
Storytelling through production and editing of original video and graphics.
Understanding how to leverage social platforms - including YouTube and Facebook - to grow, reach and engage.
Tracking video performance using analytic tools and then using this data to make informed decisions about workflow.
3 to 5 years' editorial storytelling experience required.
Strong ability to tell stories in new visual ways, using emerging platforms.
Proficiency with industry leading software.
Journalistic chops to make sense of complex news stories and the talent to write or produce them in a fair, clear, concise, and lively manner.
Thrives under constant deadline pressure.
Familiarity with the culture, needs, and sensibilities of active military and veterans.
Bachelor's degree or those with relevant military experience.
