- This is a lead software engineer position for a new 24/7 streaming channel for CBS Interactive. The software engineering lead will be expected to help define core architecture and roadmap implementation strategies as well as be a core contributor to existing media management and streaming systems.
Lead the software development and engineering team for CBS digital distribution group’s streaming video products.
Own the technical stack and architecture for the streaming video product pipeline and management applications.
Coordinate development and release activities with engineers, scrum masters and product owners to ensure technical work is properly scoped and estimated.
Provide solid feedback based on code reviews and mentor other members of the engineering team.
Manage and contribute code to back end platform CMS and utilities as product roadmaps mature.
Coordinate with Product, QA, and Network Operations groups and act as 2nd-level support for production issues.
- Management applications,apis and technology stack for a new streaming content network
What you bring to the team:
You have -
5+ years of proven experience leading the full lifecycle of agile software development creating robust and reliable solutions that deliver against ambitious product roadmaps across a portfolio of highly-trafficked sites and mobile applications
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or 4 years equivalent experience.
3+ years experience in PHP, Java or C/C++ and common development frameworks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills to facilitate teamwork
Expert understanding of media management systems and/or streaming delivery.
You might also have -
Experience integrating common media playback toolkits and web based media players.
Experience leading development teams.
Familiarity with Symfony or Drupal frameworks.
