Brand Overview:

We are the 24/7 entertainment news digital arm of the long-running, Emmy Award-winning syndicated TV series Entertainment Tonight. ETonline has been the No. 1 producer of entertainment video online for more than 2 years straight, according to comScore, and is a top three entertainment news network. We are also preparing for the launch of an ET-branded streaming network in 2018.

Role Details:

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic manager to oversee ETonline.com and Entertainment Tonight’s social media platforms. You are an experienced forward-thinking and a confident team player who can work with other teams within CBS, including interactive and broadcast divisions.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Manage a team of social platform managers and producers, who create content for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

  • Work closely and collaboratively across editorial, broadcast, paid social, PR and affiliate teams to champion social-first ideas and execute unique activations, events and strategies.

  • Build and manage key relationships with reps from Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

  • Review social content to make sure it’s accurate, on brand and presents a unique perspective.

  • Communicate reporting on brand’s social performance to stakeholders and executives. Use those findings to guide strategy, both on your team and wider.

  • Train editorial, broadcast and video team members on social media best practices.

  • Oversee all staffing needs for social media team.

  • May include occasional or scheduled shifts that require night and weekend work.

Key Projects:

  • In 2018, CBSi plans to launch an ET-branded streaming entertainment news network. This role will play a key part in helping to establish how our social media platforms will support those efforts.

  • Ideating platform-specific activations and tactics for breaking news and the large tentpole events (GRAMMYs, Oscars, Comic-Con) as well as set visits, film premieres, and exclusive interviews.

  • Continuously brainstorming and implementing new ways to present our content -- from breaking news, exclusive sit-down interviews, features -- to a wider audience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -

  • A journalism background in a digital newsroom, specifically 5+ years working in social or digital media.

  • A competitive nature that thrives in a high-pressure environment that requires both speed and accuracy.

  • An unironic love of pop culture.

  • Willingness to work early morning hours and on weekends, if necessary.

  • The ability to multitask.

  • Flexibility to re-prioritize duties based on breaking news.

  • Prior experience with Photoshop or basic graphic design skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
