DESCRIPTION:

Paralegal Responsibilities:

  • Prepare option exercise notices

  • Track option dates

  • Ability to read and understand basic agreements

  • Coordinate approval of show budgets

  • Prepare show books

  • Check all show credits for accuracy against music agreements

  • Research as requested by EVP

  • Process Payment Requests

  • Prepare legal files

  • Other duties as assigned

Office Manager - (33 people in 3 offices):

  • Order office and kitchen supplies

  • Distribute mail, trades, coordinate payment of bills/invoices

  • Liaise with office of the building for facilities and maintenance needs

  • Handle parking validations/permits (purchase and distribution)

  • Help employees with various office needs (e.g., vacation requests, office/computer purchase/set-up, keys, etc.)

  • Plan and execute Office Events (e.g. Holiday, Recycle, Health Fair)

  • Other duties as assigned

Assist EVP, Business Affairs, CBS Music:

  • Heavy phones, scheduling (meetings, phone conferences), very heavy filing, expense reports

  • Follow up with agents, attorneys and musicians for executed agreements

  • Distribute agreements, option exercise notices, confidential information

  • Coordinate weekly staff meetings; collect and distribute status reports

  • Keep personnel payroll calendar

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

'- BA Degree required; Paralegal or JD preferred. Music Industry experience a plus

  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel

  • Excellent work ethic and good attitude

  • Excellent communication skills mandatory to interface with executive producers, studio and network executives (including creative and legal)

  • Ability to work independently, including follow-through on assignments and collaborate with EVP and Department

  • Attention to detail, highly-organized and ability to prioritize projects mandatory

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

  • Ability to use judgment with highly confidential information
