For CBS All Access, the Studio produces THE GOOD FIGHT; STRANGE ANGEL; the streaming service’s first comedy series, NO ACTIVITY; WHY WOMEN KILL; INTERROGATION as well as the upcoming highly anticipated revival of THE TWILIGHT ZONE. Additionally, as part of the expansion of the Star Trek universe, the Studio produces the Untitled Star Trek series featuring Sir Patrick Stewart reprising the role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Star Trek: Short Treks as well as the recently announced Star Trek: Lower Decks, which marks CBS All Access’s foray into the animation landscape. The Studio’s programming also includes series based on popular, viral segments from THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN, "Carpool Karaoke" for Apple Music and "Drop the Mic" for TBS, as well as "Insatiable," "Unbelievable" and "Dead to Me" for Netflix. Additionally, the Studio produces the comedy anthology series "The Guest Book" for TBS; OUR CARTOON PRESIDENT and YOUR HONOR for SHOWTIME as well as "A Higher Loyalty," a miniseries based on former FBI Director James Comey’s memoir.
This position will be responsible for the accounting and related controls, including oversight of the monthly financial reporting package for CBS Television Studios. They will be responsible for ensuring the financial data is accurate and complies with both company policies and GAAP. They will work closely with our SOX compliance team to make sure the company’s internal controls are being followed. This position will also oversee the division’s treasury function and cash forecasting reported to our Corporate Treasury department. This position will work closely with the Studio FP&A and Corporate Accounting departments.
Oversee and develop the financial reporting, treasury and accounting staff.
Review of the monthly financial statements prepared by the financial reporting group.
Review of account balances for appropriateness.
Review and implement where needed account reconciliations.
Work with external auditors and ensure all client prepared schedules are provided as requested.
Review quarterly variance analysis prepared for MD&A purposes.
Review supplemental schedules prepared quarterly for Corporate Accounting.
Work with staff on implementing changes to improve efficiency.
Review and approve wire transfers
Review the weekly cash forecast prepared for Corporate Treasury.
Review relevant agreements and ensure that they properly accounted for.
10 plus years of experience managing an accounting department, preferably in the entertainment industry.
MBA a plus.
Highly effective leadership abilities - mentors and develops staff
Strong organizations skills, attention to detail, ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Oracle financial suite, Cognos reporting and TM1 a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
