Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, home to countless beloved authors, books, brands, and series—including Cassandra Clare, Dork Diaries, Ellen Hopkins, Jason Reynolds, Hillary Clinton, Stuart Gibbs, Laurie Halse Anderson, Jenny Han, PJ Masks, Daniel Tiger, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys—is searching for an Associate Manager to join our digital & social marketing department.

Our ideal candidate is a creative, organized, high energy, widely read lover of children’s and young adult books with knowledge of and experience managing all major social media channels; creating social content, including long-form blog pieces; and brainstorming, planning and executing innovative and strategic social campaigns. Experience working with authors and influencers is a plus!

The Associate Manager will work with the Digital Marketing Strategist on the development and execution of social and digital initiatives for Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing across imprints and age categories. Job responsibilities include:

  • Management and/or oversight of @simonteen and @simonkids channels, in addition to a handful of title-specific properties, in coordination with Digital Marketing Assistant. Includes planning and posting content, writing copy, engaging with followers, maximizing reach and growing audience.

  • Serving as an editor for and contributor to, Simon & Schuster’s online community for teen readers and lovers of YA novels, including monthly content planning and site organization, writing posts, running weekly editorial board meetings, soliciting content from in-house contributors, creating banners, and preparing weekly Riveted newsletter.

  • Brainstorming and executing digital marketing campaigns and maintaining up-to-date digital marketing plans for Simon & Schuster Children’s titles.

  • Creating/working with internal and external vendors to create digital assets for use in organic social promotion and/or social advertising, including but not limited to photos and designed graphics.

  • Working with social influencers in coordination with Digital Marketing Assistant.

  • Working closely with Digital Marketing Strategist to develop Riveted by Simon Teen branded promotions for consumer cons and festivals, including YALLFest, YALLWest, North Texas Teen, SDCC & NYCC.


Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in book marketing, children’s book publishing preferred

  • Community management experience and knowledge of major social media platforms

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
