CBS This Morning is in search of a broadcast associate to help manage partnerships with local CBS stations and affiliates.

The position calls for a solid background in journalism and control room production experience. The broadcast associate will work with the senior staff and producers of CBS This Morning to ensure unique content gets promoted on local newscasts across the country.

You will develop relationships with local producers and news managers at CBS stations and affiliates. You will manage daily live and taped cross-talks between CBS This Morning anchors and local news anchors. You will work closely with Newspath (the network’s news gathering service for CBS stations) to distribute promotional content and story previews to local stations. You will be responsible for communicating breaking news and special report plans to local stations as they unfold.



We need someone who is a self-starter who will take the initiative to find new and creative ways to promote our content; someone who recognizes compelling video and stories that deserve promotion; someone who is a strong tease writer; someone who prides themselves on their timing and control room skills; someone who can be a trustworthy contact for our local partners. A local news producer with experience building and then executing live broadcasts from the control room could be a strong candidate for this position.

Candidates should be fluent in AP style and have knowledge of ENPS. Familiarity with Avid Assist and NewsCutter is a plus. Candidates should pride themselves on nailing every detail and remaining calm while working fast and efficiently. They should thrive on working in an intense, but exhilarating live television environment. 4 year college degree in related field. Control room and tease writing experience a big plus.
