Identify, develop, assign and edit titles and branded book pipelines across a range of nonfiction categories, ensuring all content is smart, original, valuable, and clean, plus aligns with the new Tiller Press and Simon & Schuster’s editorial vision; Communicate context, vision and requirements to everyone involved in a book’s creation; Build a content repository of quality content, along with a stellar cast of smart writers and other content creators to fill that repository; Collaborate with the Cultural Intelligence team to leverage trends and market data that will help inform title strategy and the editorial calendar; Keep an eye on content produced by influencers and work with the Cultural Intelligence team to build relationships with these key influencers and communities; Ensure all books and content that’s created falls within the new imprint’s area of expertise; Build partnerships with major brands that may include sourcing and writing original content; Find efficiencies across editorial content; Implement keyword and other marketing strategies for all books and content; Track and report on successes and failures, digging into why something worked or did not; Champion all titles, both internally and externally; Mine a backlist to identify titles worth updating and reissuing; Develop an editorial style guide and set of best practices.


Previous experience in book publishing required.
