The Director, Human Resources provides progressive and proactive HR support and internal consulting to CBS Technology (CBS Tech) and Information Security (ISG) organizations. Working closely with the Vice President of Human Resources, the Director will provide a blend of strategic and tactical HR support to develop, engage, and retain talent. This involves managing and coordinating HR activities and operations in the areas of employee relations, organizational design, change management, succession planning, benefits, compensation, staffing, and talent management. This role serves as a business partner and advisor to client groups, providing solutions to employee-related challenges while maintaining a balance between being a strategic business partner and employee champion and actively upholding and supporting the values and mission of CBS.

Essential Responsibilities

Partner with VP, HR to drive key HR initiatives across client groups, including performance and talent management, succession planning, compensation planning, staffing, training and development, diversity and inclusion, rewards & recognition, and employee communication.

Proactively consult with management on human resource issues by engaging in activities that provide insight into the business and employee population (e.g. attending department staff meetings, taking meetings with employees, reviewing financial reports, attending industry functions, reviewing and analyzing exit interview data).

Maintain a positive work environment through effective employee relations practices. Consult with in-house legal counsel as appropriate in order to optimally manage employee relations, contain problems, conduct investigations and address issues with employees.

Communicate and implement Corporate HR Initiatives throughout client groups and ensure strategic value in offerings.

Support managers and employees in matters related to career development, staffing initiatives, compensation matters and performance management.

Participate in designing and developing new HR programs, with a view to improve employee engagement.

Develop strong working relationships and work closely with all HR specialist functions to provide seamless HR support and guidance to the business including: Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, HRIS, Compensation & Benefits.

Provide interpretation of HR policies, practices and procedures to department employees and managers.

Provide leadership and guidance to other team members and direct them as needed.

Partner with third parties as needed in regards to visa issues and the relocation of employees.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

8+ years progressive HR generalist experience.

Proven experience in conflict resolution, organizational design and change management practices within a sophisticated, matrix’d environment.

Track record of establishing alliances with all levels of management while able to establish credibility and retain independence of thought.

Must be effective working autonomously while ensuring key clients and HR colleagues are looped in or consulted as necessary.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively as well as adapt quickly in an evolving environment.

Ability to develop and implement innovative HR strategies in support of organizational and operational goals.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong client-support orientation, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of clients, individually and in groups.

Project management and process improvement experience with a track record of delivering results.

Ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment.

Proven experience in problem-solving and organizational management practices within a complex work environment.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience. HR certification is desirable.
