The Manager, Business Development will be involved in the development of Smithsonian Networks’ international and ancillary businesses and industry and strategic analysis presentations for senior management.
Create financial models and conduct market and industry analysis to support evaluation of new business ventures.
Partner with international representatives to identify, evaluate, and manage operational execution of international channel launches.
Prepare business update and strategy decks for senior management
Work with ancillary businesses business partners to grow revenue in international licensing, clip licensing, home video, airline/cruise line distribution and retransmission royalties.
Work with legal department to document business contracts.
3-5 years of relevant television industry experience
Extensive knowledge of the television industry landscape
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills are critical as the position interacts regularly with channel management and multiple internal departments and external partners.
Strong organization skills
Self-motivated team player
