DESCRIPTION:

Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing is looking for a Marketing Assistant to assist in the execution of marketing plans and provide departmental support for our Little Simon, Simon Spotlight, Aladdin, and Simon Pulse imprints. The ideal candidate will be an excited, innovative self-starter with a passion for children’s books. Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing, this position will help work on a wide range of acclaimed and bestselling titles across licensed properties, board book, picture book, middle grade, and YA categories.

Specific duties include:

  • Assisting in the development and execution of marketing plans for select titles each season

  • Maintaining department production schedule and marketing plans

  • Copywriting for sell sheets, ads, and other marketing materials

  • General departmental support such as coordinating and executing mailings, scheduling meetings, tracking and submitting invoices for approval, and taking on additional marketing projects as assigned

  • Providing administrative support for Associate Marketing Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required skills / knowledge:

  • Experience and interest in children’s books publishing is preferred

  • Organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Creative approach to problem solving
