DESCRIPTION:

CBS This Morning is seeking a smart, creative, and enterprising Health & Medical Producer with strong live studio, field and tape producing experience. This person will have a firm command of journalistic standards, a keen attention to detail, solid writing experience, and excellent newsgathering skills.

Responsibilities

  • Produce live interview and demo segments as well as write and produce tape packages

  • Have a strong mastery of visual graphics and elements to support segments

  • Work directly with a team of producers, senior producers, correspondents and contributors

  • Responsible for full scope of production including research, enterprising and pitching content, booking and pre-interviewing, gathering visual elements, ordering graphics, writing for live and tape medical, health and wellness news and trends

QUALIFICATIONS:

'- 4+ years television health journalism experience

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge in health and medical news

  • Familiar with medical journals and consumer health and wellness publications

  • Have contacts at major research institutions and can establish rapport with story characters

  • Creative and visual storyteller that can dissect and distill medical studies for general audience

  • Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, and editorial judgment

  • Extensive experience field producing and directing crews

  • Willing and able to work Sunday through Thursday schedule and travel on occasion

  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Collaborative member of a newsroom
