CBS This Morning is seeking a Senior Producer in New York to work a night-side shift. This person will be responsible for reviewing and approving scripts, overseeing breaking news, launching stories, preparing the show for broadcast, and managing a team of producers.
Candidates must be decisive multi-taskers with outstanding journalistic judgment and remain calm in high-pressure environments. They will be responsible for coordinating with a team of correspondents and producers in the field, managing the rundown, and overseeing the edit of pieces. They should have an excellent command of legal and standards processes, and both field and control room experience. This position requires an understanding of newsgathering and of broadcasting technology.
The position requires a broad and current knowledge of national and world events and a passion for finding new and compelling ways to showcase correspondents and the stories they cover around the world.
Must be willing to work overnight and flexible hours.
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a producer on a news program
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior-level role including management experience in a newsroom
Field experience required, control room experience a plus
Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment
Exceptional written, organizational, and verbal communication skills
