Simon & Schuster is looking for a Creative Marketing Services Executive to lead a team of designers, writers, media buyers and campaign managers to provide comprehensive advertising and promotion services to all divisions of the corporation.

The ideal candidate must have strong track record in crafting dynamic, creative campaigns that connect a broad range of books to large and engaged audience of readers. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the corporate digital group and publishing divisional management teams to drive Direct-to-Consumer, integrated marketing strategies and tactics across channels and platforms.

  • Apply data-driven marketing strategies to execute effective paid campaigns across web, email and social platforms.

  • Manage execution of creative and effective print and broadcast campaigns.

  • Participate in driving the vision, technology and infrastructure to support customer acquisition growth and consumer analytics expansion.

  • Oversee team of creative copywriters, ensuring best in class metadata practices, monitoring and results

  • Collaborate closely with our sales team and publishing groups, with our talented marketing specialists, and with international marketing teams across Simon & Schuster.

  • Analyze efficacy of paid marketing efforts across the company and communicate current best practices as well as relevant market trend data to divisions.

  • Direct media buying activities for all imprints, including negotiating with key venues and a thorough, up-to-date and ongoing knowledge of the media marketplace.

  • Oversee design, production and cost management of all promotional materials.

  • Direct design and production of all trade show exhibit displays.

  • Participate in creation of corporate presentations including presentation materials.


15+ years of professional experience in marketing, a significant track record in effective digital marketing, preferably with book publishing experience.

  • Ability to contribute creative content and social/advertising ideas that build overall corporate D2C goals as well as augment author brand building strategies.

  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking and presentations.

  • Effective people person who can develop and manage a strong and ever-growing team.

  • Collaborative leader to work with Executive Marketing Group in creating company-wide improvements and solutions and to participate in effectively implementing change.

  • Must be highly organized and results driven, able to take ownership of situations to achieve goals.

  • Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work product and demonstrate good follow up and follow through.
