CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. DESCRIPTION:

Director of Sales

Pittsburgh, PA

Full Time, Exempt

Director of Sales directs the operation of the Sales Department for KDKA TV, WPCW, KDKA.com and CBSN Pittsburgh. Sets policies, procedures and priorities for department.

Duties:

  • Interfaces and coordinates sales activities with other department heads, CBS Rep Offices and reports to VP/GM.

  • Plans and administers operating budget for sales department.

  • Determine and set strategies for maximizing revenue and exceeding goals.

  • Establish rate structures and maintain rate card and inventory

  • Establish and execute long-term strategy and goals

  • Oversee sports relationships and sales.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications:

  • Seeks out, creates and implements new ways of marketing products to maximize revenue.

  • Identifies economic and market trends which affect sales goals and create strategies to overcome them

  • Directs the activities of Sales Managers to assure that Station goals are met.

  • Assist account executives and sales managers to create effective strategies for the success of our client

  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and creative skills.

  • Analytical, interpretive and strategic thinking ability.

  • Executive, administrative, and supervisory skills.

  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.

  • Must have extensive television sales / sales management experience.

  • Wide Orbit, Salesforce.com, Strata and related media systems preferred.

  • College degree preferred
