Role Details:

The Director of Editorial Content is a key role in maintaining’s global leadership in growing and retaining a robust global audience. She/he is an expert in all things related to content and channel optimization, brand consistency, segmentation and localization, analytics and meaningful measurement. This key leader will also develop and oversee an integrated content strategy that encompasses editorial governance and execution, and metrics to be applied and aligned with the business’s overall objectives. She/he is also responsible for the creation of the editorial structure within the content department and partnering organization functions in order to ensure that all content across the business is integrated and aligned to support business objectives.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Manage in-house and contractor editorial teams across the globe to develop content on a day-to-day basis

  • Lead process and workflow innovations related to publishing content by developing standards, systems and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing, including the real-time implementation of content strategies.

  • Lead multi-discipline, strategic analysis of global mobile app and desktop software markets to identify content opportunities by managing and coordinating with teams inclusive of SEO, Business Innovation, and Research support groups

  • Leveraging market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and educate users that lead to critical behavioral metrics.

  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including web, mobile, video, social media, and email

  • Develop and maintain a functional content calendar covering strategic topics, verticals and themes, as well as defining the owners for each area

  • Participate in promotion/content marketing strategy development and execution, collaborate with Product Marketing and Sales to respond to RFP and other advertiser programs

  • Define and implement measurement systems that actively measure, manage, optimize and communicate the performance of the content put out by the business against the business’s operational objectives and strategies.

  • Advance’s ability to create premium content at scale

  • Actively participate and contribute to repositioning the business to be a vital complement to Apple App Store, and Google Play catalogs

  • Participate in developing strategy, process and methodology that will scale to new verticals and market opportunities


What you bring to the team:

You have--

  • Bachelor’s degree required - Concentration in English, Literature, or Communications field preferred.

  • Proven editorial and managerial skills, a minimum of 8 years of experience as a respected leader in multichannel content creation (publishing, journalism, etc.) and outstanding command of the English language.

  • Technology savvy, must demonstrate keen interest and ability to conceive, develop, and scale content creation using both human and technology resources

  • Strong analytical skills, showing deep interest in research and analysis of business related content with ability to calculate ROI and/or gauge success on every bit of content produced by the business; ability to transform raw information and data into intelligence, and that intelligence into action.
