Our social team and native video teams are responsible for developing and producing compelling stories—as told through video, editorial and social platforms—that promote programming from our key brands such as CNET, Gamespot & TV Guide as well as emerging social-only brands in our portfolio from an editorial/storytelling and a social commerce perspective.
Regardless of the medium, our team also optimizes the best of CBSi's content to drive audience, engagement, audience retention & revenue by leveraging data analytics, analyzing the competitive landscape, and recognizing opportunities for innovation in this always-on world.
CNET Media Group is looking for a Senior Director of Social Media to lead native video distribution & platform revenue growth and social storytelling generating audience growth and engagement. This role will be pivotal in leading strategy, planning and creative ideation of its social brands on CNET, Gamespot, TV Guide and our other strong portfolio brands.
The ideal candidate for this position has experience driving audience and revenue leading teams focused on native video distribution & monetization and social audience growth & traffic driving across multiple brands and channels.
Set social content and native video platform and publishing strategy for a diverse portfolio of brands
Set our brands social voice and brand tone on select platforms
Managing and leading a team of social and native social video producers to test & optimize packaging editorial, video and branded content across platforms
Work with partnerships (YouTube, Facebook / Instagram, Twitter) to drive innovation for CBSi
Lead communication with - and provide regular updates to - internal team members across content strategy and integrated marketing teams around best practices and new trends across the social industry
Study competitor strategies, industry trends and innovation, and social analytics to ensure CBSi is ahead of the curve
Partner with internal and external stakeholders such as editorial and video production teams, business development, business intelligence, audience development and product to synchronize efforts and effectively communicate goals, strategies and results
What you bring to the team:
You have -
Have 6+ years of social media and native video marketing and management with a background in journalism/editorial/video that is metrics driven focused
Enjoy hiring and leading, nurturing and motivating a team of social and native video producers that will test and optimize to grow audience and engagement
Solid understanding of digital content distribution practices and be passionate and knowledgeable about the publishing media and creating content
Be a proven collaborator and enjoy the process of collaboration and working / building relationships across many functional teams
Ability to learn fast, and adapt to a high-growth, flexible environment
Experience working independently and a track record of taking initiative in changing environments
Must have a" get things done" mentality
Have great communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to articulate and present concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
You might also have -
Have experience covering large events in a social media capacity
Past experience in tech, games, food, and entertainment publishing and media
Demonstrated ability to be creative and think big, contributing fresh ideas leveraging analytics/data
Have existing relationships with top social and native video platforms (YouTube, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter)
