CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).


Searching for the right candidate to lead the strategic mission of the newsroom, while ensuring the highest levels of journalistic integrity throughout 35+ hours of weekly news and sports programming on KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV and on

  • As part of senior management team, contribute to long term strategy planning for the television station

  • Plan long term strategy for news department and for ratings retention and growth

  • Provide strategic and tactical direction for day to day news coverage, breaking news, special projects, investigative reporting, special event coverage, and editorial

  • Lead development of new technology, multi-screen strategy

  • Lead brand vision, planning and execution for newscasts

  • Lead newsroom management team

  • Lead direction in station social media

  • Recruit, hire on air talent

  • Negotiate personal service and union contracts

  • Nurture employees through constant feedback and coaching

  • Lead production efforts for all live KPIX-TV Specials and Tent Pole events

  • Oversee evaluation and performance appraisal process for employees

  • Develop and maintain newsroom budget and expense management

  • Ensure a balanced and ethical presentation of news in accordance with CBS policies and standards.
