The HQ intern will join during our peak busy Fall Sports Coverage season and have a front row in the CT office as the teams support live 247 Sports coverage focused on our preparing and producing our Reiter's Block and evening shows. They'll have the opportunity to shadow Producers and work alongside them like a Personal Assistant would.
The Sports HQ editorial intern will assist with updating coverage and breaking news in sports. This includes:
Contributing research to sidebars
Producing photo galleries, and tracking down relevant video
This Intern will also gain experience in broadcast and digital sports news gathering, writing, and segment production.
Other responsibilities include:
Contributing the occasional self-written and reported sports news item
Monitoring trends, competitor sites, and other sources to report to editors several times daily on stories that would be in interest to our audience
Editing, captioning, and posting video from feeds and other source material
Time commitment: part-time, 20 hours per week during later office hours and weekends (Monday - Friday, 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm; Saturday - Sunday, 11:00 am -7:00 pm) but times may vary per team
This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines
Hunger to learn more about the digital media space
Passionate about sports and current events
Familiarity with social media
Strong writing skills
You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Must be at least 18 years old
