CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. DESCRIPTION:

KCBS2/KCAL9 TV, the CBS Owned & Operated Duopoly in Los Angeles, is seeking a Reporter. The ideal candidate is an experienced and creative reporter for daily news coverage on all our multi-media platforms. To be considered you must be willing to work any shift and agree to shoot and edit video using a light consumer-grade camera. In addition to on-air duties, this position will represent the duopoly at a variety of public and station events.

  • The daily gathering news and information for various CBS/KCAL platforms, including TV, digital, and social media

  • Will work with producers and news managers on developing, researching, investigating, writing, producing and presenting stories as needed for both TV and digital platforms.

  • Presents completed news stories that are accurate, journalistically sound, fair and balanced.

  • Will report live during newscasts and breaking news as needed

  • Will coordinate, organize, conduct and video-record interviews

  • Builds relationships with community and contacts for developing story leads.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications/Requirements:

3-5 years of experience as a reporter

Minimum 3 years’ experience writing, producing and desktop editing

Flexibility with respect to scheduling and/or assigned work shifts

BS/BA in Journalism/Communications or equivalent background
