Job Description

  • Position will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of multiple shows at different stages of completion. Projects will generally be ½ - 1 hour episodic series. Some shows will utilize different currency.

  • Accounts Payable processing, includes tracking Purchase Orders, obtaining appropriate approvals for payment, ensuring backup documentation supports payment, processing check runs, obtaining check signatures, and maintaining proper files.

  • Prepare and update writer and EP payment schedules as needed. Review for accuracy to ensure all necessary payments are approved and made in timely manner.

  • Payroll processing during prep, post and wrap phases of project as needed. Includes timecard review, obtaining start paperwork, sending all necessary documents to the payroll company, review and approving payroll edits, paying payroll invoices, downloading payroll to the production accounting system so it is accurately reflected in the cost report. Maintaining proper payroll files.

  • Prepare journal entries recording costs paid by corporate and transferring costs for the related project in the show production accounting software (Vista).

  • Trial Balance clean-up as necessary: Reconcile Petty Cash and Cashet card entries; payroll reconciliation, deposits, pay out accrued vacation & holiday pay etc.

  • Prepare Cost Reports during post production and monthly closing Cost Reports as required each month needed. Preparation of costs reports will be in conjunction with the Finance Executive. For series, prepare and verify Cost Summary Reports (SOPC)

  • Assist with updating and preparing residuals files for submission to Residuals.

  • Reconcile and balance Bank Reconciliations from Treasury on a monthly basis, which could include voiding Stale dated checks, Journal bank fees, and investigate errors.

  • Assist with Tax Incentives, to include pulling files, copying/scanning files, journals, research, and working with Auditors and State Revenue Departments.

  • Work with multiple CBS Departments in processing payments, obtaining documents, researching issues, and managing shows with Producers, liaison with Production Location Accountants and staff

  • Miscellaneous ad-hoc projects as needed (cash flow updates, inquiries regarding missing payments/payroll checks, payroll claims, CASHet Card close out analysis, tax credit audits, updates and requests as needed by finance or production management.


Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience as a 1st Assistant Accountant with cost report experience or Post Production Accountant, with required episodic television series experience

  • Knowledge/experience working with production accounting software (Vista and EP a plus), Movie Magic Budgeting, Excel, DAX

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Must be a proactive and self starter

  • Excellent communication skills with a team-player attitude

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related production accounting and finance is preferred
