CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).
KCBS2/KCAL9 TV, the CBS Owned & Operated Duopoly in Los Angeles, is seeking a highly motivated Sales Planner to join our team.
This position will:
Develop sales presentations and proposals packaging KCBS-TV, KCAL-TV and CBS’s multiplatform properties including Digital, Social Media and Activations.
Work closely with Account Executives to understand client goals and objectives, and brainstorm solutions to meet client needs and maximize revenue for the Stations. Be prepared to support sales calls in an IT capacity as well as present on occasions.
Work with Sales and Marketing teams to establish new business strategies, coordinate weekly sales activity and research marketplace intelligence.
Serve as a liaison to all departments (Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Management, News e.g.) on the development and implementation of client campaigns.
Work closely with client contacts to ensure successful campaign delivery, including collection of creative assets to ensure campaigns go live on time.
Communicate campaign highlights to Account Executives and deliver post-campaign performance summary reports including metrics, ROI and overall success of the campaign.
Create high-impact presentations for custom and off-the-shelf sales and marketing ideas.
Collaborate with Account Executives on sales calls and provide support for closing new business deals and renewals.
Work with Research Director to maintain up-to-date working knowledge of all sales products, including programming, ratings, on-air promotions, inventory, verticals, packaging and strategy.
Maintain all station contests from ideation, legal, fulfillment and post evaluation.
Present promotional opportunities and programming updates in weekly sales meeting.
Two years media sales experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once
Attention to detail
Proficient with Photoshop, strong PowerPoint skills, with PC and MAC suite of products for purposes of AE support and presentations.
- Prior TV/Radio experience is a plus.
College degree preferred.
