JOB LOCATION: West Hollywood, CA


Reporting to the SVP of Talent Relations and Events, the Director will be responsible for helping build the event strategy for the SHOWTIME Communications department. The Director will plan and oversee the implementation of all event logistics and guest relations. He/she will secure freelance event production companies in the planning, set up, implementation and take down of each event. Adhering to approved event budgets, the Director will also negotiate sponsor packages when applicable. Director must come to the table with strong industry contacts and closely follow the everchanging venue landscape in both Los Angeles and New York.

Red Carpet Events

  • Premieres, tastemaker, award related events (Globes, Emmys, FYC), SHOWTIME sport related events, festivals and internal company events

  • Logistics:

  • Permitting, security, design, décor, parking, AV, vendor management, staffing, entertainment and guest flow

  • Experiential vendor knowledge and management

  • Venue scouting and procurement

  • Management of internal partnerships as is relates to SHOWTIME events


  • Primary destination: New York

Budget Management

  • Tracking individual event budgets

  • Vendor contract and invoice management

  • Creating, maintaining and executing sponsor packages

Industry Relationships, Event Contacts and Venue Scouting

  • Tracking new venues in Los Angeles and New York

  • Creating and maintaining top industry contacts including but not limited to: hospitality groups, restaurant groups and event production companies

Director must be able to multi-task while having eyes and ears on all parts of an event. He/she has the ability to handle high volume of pressure and last-minute requests with grace. Always ready to interface with top executives and talent. Must be an independent thinker, with great attention to detail. Resourcefulness and a can-do attitude are key.


  • 10 years of experience with 5 or more years of management experience in special events

  • Can strategize, collaborate and execute approximately 25 events per year

  • Must have proven relationships within the entertainment industry to help reinforce SHOWTIME as a leader in the event community

  • Understands the benefit of creating a unique experience that sparks social conversation around an event and maximizing the return of investment

  • Prioritizes event timelines and deadlines

  • Has the ability to think big and strategize to exceed partner expectations

  • Keeps current with new tech with in the event industry to keep SHOWTIME events competitive

  • Proven ability to be flexible and pivot for what is best for SHOWTIME

  • Ability to refresh the event experience for shows that have had multiple seasons

  • Excellent communicator

  • Can build Power Point decks for internal event proposals
