We are currently recruiting a Research Analyst, based at our EMEA HQ in Amsterdam.

The Research Analyst, part of the CBS Studios International marketing and research team, supports ongoing and ad-hoc research projects across CBS Studios International (CBSSI) and will be particularly dedicated to the day to day business of our main EMEA HQ in Amsterdam and its EMEA Client Relation teams.

With a passion for video content and an obsession for precise and detailed work, the Research Analyst will be focused on supporting sales and answering requests about TV ratings, viewership and general market intelligence. Some responsibilities include; weekly and monthly analysis for U.S. series in key EMEA territories, both in the linear and non-linear universes, create and update sales presentations, dashboards and databases, using a wide variety of research software.

The Research Analyst reports to the Vice President Research & Insights, who is located in Los Angeles, and is responsible for turning data into information and in conjunction with the entire Research team, turn information into insights.

Applicants must enjoy working in a demanding, team-oriented atmosphere within a constantly evolving international media & entertainment industry.


  • Create and update regular reports on CBSSI content performance in EMEA among U.S. series, formats and local language series, and on market specific intelligence across platforms (linear and non-linear).

  • In-depth analysis and reporting on CBSSI products and competition.

  • Provide ad-hoc ratings analysis to support client relation teams.

  • Help design and write sales presentations and TV ratings analysis reports on key products.

  • Develop and maintain a direct working relationship and close collaboration with sales, marketing, communication in the EMEA HQ.

  • Participate in relevant conferences, workshops and research industry groups in order to build and maintain strong industry contacts, develop vendor relationships.

  • Explore, and innovate in ways to showcase reporting and propagate audience insights across the organization.



  • 2+ years of experience working in entertainment or media research/analysis.

  • Strong excel, PowerPoint and ease with new software.

  • Must be numerate, have the ability to analyze audience research data and comfortable working with large data sets.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to write clear, meaningful and concise ratings analysis.

  • Experience with a TV ratings software (ITVR, Nielsen NPower, EMSTV, MyETV, TechEdge, MMW…) is a plus.

  • Passion for video content (Television, Digital, Movies) and for entertainment in general, with an interest for consumer behavior.

  • Excellent knowledge of the television business and evolving trends.

  • Resourceful and highly motivated.

  • Fast leaner and fast executer.

    • Masters’ degree (Market Research, Consumer Behavior, Business Administration, Economics or other related).
  • Must be proactive, highly-organized and a self-starter.

  • Team player with ability to work independently and with multiple projects.

  • Experience with primary research including building questionnaires and mining meaningful insights and recommendations.

  • Must have a valid work permit for the Netherlands.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
