DESCRIPTION:

Anchor newscasts as assigned 2) Accountable for leadership in executing Station mission to ownership of weather coverage 3) Accountable for driving severe weather coverage: Win breaking weather. Within reason, be prepared for first on, last off in weather coverage. Develop a severe weather format for entire newscast with Executive Producer 4) Accountable for mastery and consistent usage of weather equipment and other tools, including, Live Doppler, Dual Doppler, Street Level Mapping, Telestrator, Live Tower Cameras, Live and reported data from weather watchers, Lightning Detector, Storm Tracker, Snow Tracker, FutureCast, 3-D Animation, Specialized forecast graphics. 5) Accountable for strong and accurate forecasting. 6) Accountable for producing forecast-driven weather coverage and execution of weather goals. Producing weather top story of the day. Producing focused compelling and unpredictable weathercast, showcasing and explaining technology. 10) Responsible for helping to execute station’s overall ratings strategy. 7) Attends required work group meetings. 8) Participates in station appearances and promotions as required. 9) Accountable for staying up to date on the latest in weather forecasting, weather technology and weather information. 10) Meets with talent coach as assigned. 11) Any other duties as assigned by News Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Large market TV broadcasting experience. Should be able to display positive ratings history as on air personality.

Preferred: TV experience and street reporting experience. Minimum five years in broadcasting. Strong leadership potential.
