DESCRIPTION:

Role Details:

The associate social media producer will be responsible for maintaining TV Guide’s social media presence and aggressively growing our audience across a variety of touchpoints, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter. The candidate will be evaluated in part by the success of follower growth on these social platforms, with a focus on bringing in new, younger audiences. The candidate should have 1-2 years experience creating social content, preferably within entertainment media. Ability to think creatively, write playful and charming copy that resonates with millennials, and excellent teamwork skills are musts. Please be sure to include personal social handles and your favorite TV shows in your cover letter.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Write social copy, schedule and publish editorial stories on TV Guide’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts

  • Workshop headlines with editors for optimum social play

  • Surface & pitch viral/breaking/social-friendly content to our news team in Slack

  • Create engagement graphics in Photoshop

  • Work closely with video team, helping decide what works for what platforms

  • Upload videos to Youtube and optimize using Vid IQ

  • Organize social takeovers with talent

  • Live-tweet tentpole moments (premieres, awards shows, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -

  • Passion for television and pop culture

  • Good communication skills and a friendly attitude

  • Competence in Adobe Photoshop

  • Excellent writing skills with great attention to detail

  • A strong tone of voice with a witty sense of humor

  • Comfortable working on tight deadlines and at a fast pace

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Media or equivalent experience

You might also have -

  • Understanding of Adobe Premiere, and other Adobe CC products

  • Familiarity with other Creative Suite applications
