Givewith is seeking an experienced Director of Product Design to own the user experience, and visual / interaction design objectives for Givewith’s digital products. As our Director of Product Design, you will build and lead a Design team, tasked with evolving the user experience for our audience. You will work with internal partners across departments and with several of Givewith’s external partners to research, concept and iterate on the design of new features and to improve existing client experiences. You will bring your experience in end-to-end product design process to create an experience that resonates deeply with our users. You have a passion for conducting user research, and developing experiences that contribute directly to company objectives. You are enthusiastic about building a user-centric company culture, getting to know your user, and creating experiences that directly contribute to socially good causes.
Lead all facets of design: research, wireframing, visual design, interaction design, and prototyping to develop our user experience
Hire, manage and mentor a team of Product Designers
Institute an infrastructure for product design guidelines that foster consistency in user experience as we scale
Collaborate with engineering and product partners to achieve successful product releases, account for technical requirements, and meet company objectives
Advocate for the user and their experience by communicating research driven recommendations to your team
Translate user research and behavioral data into intuitive, innovative user interfaces
Incorporate client and team feedback into design iterations to help create win-win outcomes for our clients and business objectives
Understand the technical limitations and liberties behind decisions and have the skill to communicate rational design decisions to internal team members.
Develop our testing and user research capabilities to foster our ability to make informed decisions and iterate quickly on existing experience
7+ years of dedicated in-house product design experience across all facets of the design process, including research, UI, UX and iteration
Deep experience leading and motivating a team of product designers
Expert with Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, Sketch, or other design and wireframing software
Demonstrated expertise in tying design decisions back to research, data, and desired business outcomes
Ability to implement best practices for cross-platform devices and applications
Efficient in translating high-level requirements and/or user stories into user flows, wireframes and prototypes; familiar with and passionate about rapid prototyping
Highly collaborative, flexible, team-oriented mentality with proven success of working closely with developers and product managers
Exceptional communication skills and a desire to advocate for design decisions and the user internally to executive-level team members
Discerning and empathetic research skills; ability to interact directly with users to elicit valuable insights
Passionate about keeping up to date with the latest tools and trends that keep you at the forefront of your field
