DESCRIPTION:

The payroll manager will work closely with the Operations Payroll team to administer daily payroll records from CBS Operations & Engineering, News and Sports. The payroll manager will also be responsible for monitoring union contracts for upcoming rate and programming changes, review payroll allocation costing for Late Show, Cartoon President, News and Sports in addition to overseeing the preparation of union benefit remittances.

Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly union payroll for CBS Operations & Engineering, News, Sports and Sports Network

  • Review weekly below-the-line labor costs for Late Show and Cartoon President and compose weekly invoices

  • Manage the reallocation of payroll costs to align with billing

  • Oversee all payroll journal entries including but not limited to reallocation of payroll costs, monthly IBEW and WGA benefit accruals and per diem payroll accrual

  • Review all contract memorandums for unions and maintain departmental union contract spreadsheet

  • Review IATSE union pension, welfare, and annuity payments on a monthly basis by the 10th of each month

  • Direct liasion with CBS HRIS regarding the onboarding and termination of per diem union employees

  • Work closely with CBS IS&T as it relates to Workforce (CBS time management system)

  • Lead point person and payroll tester for the adoption of any integrated scheduling systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Prior accounting experience in unionized labor payroll

  • Strong Excel skills

  • BS in Accounting or Finance

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Oracle ERP experience a plus
