- The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for the design, development and execution of quality assurance test cases for the company's cloud-based content supply chain ecosystem, This position will execute positive and negative functional testing, compatibility, and assuring data integrity to ensure that all applications are performing as designed. The QA Engineer will work closely with developers, business owners, product management and end users throughout the development and testing life-cycle, including the requirements gathering and design. The position will consul with product management and development teams on all technical issues related to planning, developing, implementing, and modifying testing procedures. This position will also use functional specifications to plan, create, and sign-off on test plans, manual test cases, and automated test cases.
Communicate clearly and frequently with all team members, stakeholders and product owners impacted by test and troubleshooting results.
Provide regular, detailed status report on project progress, including test cases executed, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed.
Consult with and advise project management and development teams on technical issues related to planning, developing, implementing, and modifying testing procedures.
Efficiently execute created test cases across all functional areas of the business division’s products.
Create test plans and cases (manual and automated) and use tracking tools to file, monitor, and resolve issues.
Be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process.
Work closely with Software Development Engineers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill-sets:
+3 years using defect-tracking tools (Jira is a plus)
Experience with leveraging cloud-based technologies, including integration with services from providers such as AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform. AWS is a plus
Demonstrated experience with taking initiative to creatively improve product QA and testing coverage, effectiveness, and automation
Experience in DevOps and automation using CI/CD tools and processes (such as Jenkins, SaltStack, Ansible, Terraform, GIT/Subversion)
Familiarity with video containers and codecs used in broadcast and streaming technologies a plus.
Ability to be a self-starter and to multitask
Strong desire to master emerging technologies and share experience with other team members.
Flexibility to assist with after-hours support when needed
Experience working within a full stack is a plus
