DESCRIPTION:

The CBS Global Distribution Group Financial Reporting (CGDG) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Reporting Analyst that is a self-starter and team player. Ideal candidate must be detailed oriented, organized, capable of working well within a fast paced deadline driven environment and possess the technical accounting and analytical ability necessary to review financial information related to the Entertainment industry. This position will partner closely with CBS Corporate, CBS Tax, and CGDG management operating in the US, Canada, The Netherlands, and Australia. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Performing the monthly consolidation and reporting of CGDG’s domestic and international balance sheet and statement of cash flows.

  • Fulfillment of monthly, quarterly, and year-end CBS Corporate and SEC reporting requirement.

  • Accounting for dividends, loans, business combinations, equity joint ventures, and consolidated entity restructurings

  • Preparation of balance sheet variance analysis, month-end closing journals, and supporting balance sheet schedules

  • Generating components of the forecasted monthly cash flow, P&L, and quarterly balance sheet

  • Preparing monthly cash flow and quarterly balance sheet forecast

  • Building financial models used to monitor key operational costs such as production inventory, participation, residual, and distribution

  • Performing technical research of accounting standards and identifying changes which could impact the division

  • Providing CBS Tax department essential support and analysis for local, state, federal, and international tax filings

  • Tracking construction in progress capital expenditures, creating capital project spending reports, and maintaining the Oracle Fixed Asset sub-ledger

  • Preparing monthly foreign currency analysis and related revaluation entries

  • Performing accounting and financial reporting system implementation and enhancement testing and continuously looking to identify process improvements

  • Assisting with quarterly internal / external audit requests

  • Other special / ad-hoc projects with a range of difficulties

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, with 3-5+ years of comprehensive accounting experience* Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements

  • Strong research, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • Strong work ethic that takes ownership of assigned areas and is capable of performing a variety of time sensitive tasks

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Works well in a team oriented environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and able to learn other software applications

Preferred:

  • Experience with Oracle general ledger accounting software and Cognos is preferred* Experience within Entertainment Industry Finance is preferred

  • Public Accounting and CPA preferred
