DESCRIPTION:

CBS Los Angeles has an immediate opening for a Digital Broadcast Operator at the Los Angeles Duopoly. The DBO will support the CBSN Local Los Angeles live streaming network. This position will be called on to run the Sony ELC automation system, Sony XVS-6ooo switcher and other technical equipment for live and pre-recorded productions.

Job Function:

The main responsibility of the DBO is to provide leadership in and out of the control room fulfilling the production needs as assigned. The Operator works with the editorial and production staffs to execute an error-free production in an automated or manual control room environment. You will operate the Sony ELC automation system using a Sony XVS-6ooo switcher, Cambotics robotic cameras, Chyron and VizRt graphics, GVG Stratus Playout, Calrec audio board and other tasks as assigned. A successful candidate must have sound technical skills and will bring a "can-do" approach to problem solving in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Your technical skills must be outdone by your willingness to contribute to the success of the duopoly. Candidate must be willing to work a very flexible work schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. You must be open to implementing new technologies and/or methods to accomplish future assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Demonstrated experience in live news production is required.

  • Previous Control Room Automation use is required, Sony ELC experience is preferred

  • Ability to operate technical equipment in automated or manual configuration

  • Knowledge of video and audio servers, graphics systems, audio consoles and robotic cameras is essential

  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of iNews preferred

  • Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment

  • Must be a self starter with excellent organizational skills

  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities a must.

  • Excellent people and communication skills needed

  • Good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills are a must
