The Face the Nation Associate Producer (Digital) is responsible for ensuring Face The Nation reaches the largest possible digital audience.
Working closely with the broadcast and digital teams and the homepage editors, the AP (Digital) strategizes on how to dramatically extend the reach of our broadcast brand content by identifying highly resonant moments on our air and making our digital channels a home for the best in CBS News' political analysis.
You'll work with Face the Nation moderator and producers to identify the key moments from our broadcast footage that are likely to resonate with online audiences
You'll work with the CBS News Digital & social teams to strategize on what treatment and roll-out will help elevate those moments on each platform
You'll take a lead in coordinating with digital teams (CBSN, CBSnews.com) on what Face the Nation content will be available and when
You'll write text stories and clip moments from air using our proprietary in-house tools, and write headlines for text and video in collaboration with our social and SEO teams
During the week, you will curate a feed of CBS News political content making Face the Nation's social pages go-to destinations for political junkies, even when Face The Nation is not on the air. You'll liaise with the head of social for best practice and strategy.
CBS News has multiple digital audiences with a diverse range of characteristics. You'll develop a deep understanding of what resonates with each group and find stories that connect with them.

You have a keen eye for the sharable moment in any piece of reportage and the key line in a script that is likely to resonate specifically with online audiences.
You're curious about how audiences behave, react to footage and how to reach them - we'll equip you with the tools to understand how CBS News content performs across the board, and you'll help broadcast teams understand what's catching fire online.
You're a web-native political news fanatic who is able to work confidently across teams in a fast-paced news environment.
You're collaborative and opportunistic - you love to see good work soar and want to help everyone in our organization succeed at every opportunity
What you bring to the team:
3-5 years newsroom experience
Demonstrable political news writing skills and an ability to edit video
Working knowledge of rundown software like ENPS, basic CMS fluency, and familiarity with editing video in Avid/Premier
Fluency with Photoshop
Understanding of basic SEO concepts
